This video discusses the path of your paddle after you make contact with the ball on a dink. I call it the Magic Wand because, while the ball has already left your paddle, you act as if you are still controlling the ball in the air by raising the paddle, often to about the same height as the arc of the ball’s flight.
The effect of using this paddle path is to simplify what you are doing with the paddle and make your shot more consistent and smooth.
